The Star's Life Inspired magazine is now brighter, better, and more energised with an all-new look.

From horology to fine dining, we bring you the latest on luxury and lifestyle after the second Sunday of the month.

As we celebrate Malaysia's National Day this month, multi-artist Nini Marini Ramlan talks about her love for art and traditional Malaysian textiles. Playing multiple roles as an artist, teacher and advocate for traditional Malaysian textiles, Nini also had an illustrious two-decade career in production with Media Prima, rising to become the Innovation GM.

As president of the Malaysian Traditional Textile Lovers Association (Citra), Nini reveals the challenges in preserving the art of creating batik as there are only a handful of batik makers left, all of whom are ageing. Through Citra, Nini is raising awareness on how batik is created and to promote the use of local batik. A big believer in nurturing creativity at a young age, she teaches art to kids at an early age.

Nini also talks about the advice her mother has given her on balancing making money and building a creative career.
